Our condolences go out to Brad Paisley and wife Kimberly Williams-Paisley on the loss of her mother, Linda Williams, following a long battle with dementia. She passed away Nov. 16, and Kimberly remembered her by posting this photograph on Instagram.

Kimberly wrote about her mother’s struggle with dementia in her recent book, “Where the Light Gets In: Losing My Mother Only to Find Her Again.” Her mother suffered from a rare form of early-onset dementia called primary progressive aphasia and was diagnosed in 2005. She was moved to a long-term care facility in 2012.

Kimberly began to notice her mother’s confusion just as she was tying the knot with Brad.

“[She] really wanted to be involved in the ceremony at the last minute,” the Kimberly told “Today.” “So, we gave her something to read, and she stood up in front of the congregation and wasn’t able to get through the reading, which was very atypical of my mom.”

As Linda’s condition worsened, Kimberly says Brad was her rock.

She explains, “I’ll have moments where I just completely break down and can’t handle it anymore,” she said. “And there he is to hold me. And more often, he’s there to make me laugh in the middle of a really hard day.
