High school football games can be exciting, especially when alumnae make an appearance.

A 2006 Heritage High School graduate and current school resource officer Ronnie Coleman was part of the school bands drum line as a student in Lynchburg, Va.

Well, two weeks ago, Coleman came back to play in the during the school’s season opener football game. Then he came back to play during a second game, according to WSET.

Coleman told WSET he did it for the students.

“I just really wanted to get back on the drums and connect with the kids and let them see that I was also a person and I wasn’t just a badge and a gun standing in the halls enforcing the rules, and they love it, they’re really acceptable to be being there and playing with them and having a fun time,” Coleman told WSET.

Coleman plans to play at other games this season after getting several requests from students.
