CRENSHAW, Miss. — A social media post showing a teenage victim being bullied on video by another teenager in a Mississippi town has gone viral.
Most of the audio on the tape had to be censored.
“I can’t even describe … it was horrible when I saw my kid, and I was like ‘What is going on?'” the mother of the victim said.
The beating happened in Crenshaw, Mississippi
The victim’s mother asked that her name not be used. She said her son was supposed to be at church, but was lured to a grassy area by the other teens, and that is when the attack happened.
“Oh, my gosh. I was just totally discombobulated from the whole situation,” the mother said. “I cried, and I just didn’t know what to do about how to deal with this situation.”
Crenshaw Mayor Oscar Barlow said he has seen the video, adding that the town’s police chief arrested one of the suspects.
The juvenile is being charged with simple assault.
The mother of the victim said she is happy with the first arrest, but she wants justice and for all of those who physically and verbally attacked her son to pay the price for the violent fight.
