It was 2010, and life couldn’t get better for country duo Joey + Rory.

Just two years after finishing in third place on CMT’s popular singing reality show “Can You Duet,” the married duo of Rory Lee Feek and Joey Martin Feek were basking in the success of country stardom with hit songs like “Cheater, Cheater,” awards such as the Academy of Country Music’s Top New Vocal Duo of the Year, and performances such as this one they did with Zac Brown Band on their hit “Free.”

But four years later, just after the birth of their daughter, their world began to crash down upon them, as a routine gynecologist visit resulted in Joey receiving the devastating news that she had aggressive cervical cancer.

Always the inspirational pair, the two held hands and held onto one another as Joey had surgery and looked as if she was on her way to a full recovery.

But now, the cancer has returned. So, the fight begins again.

“Here’s what Joey and I know,” Rory posted in a recent blog. “God has a plan, and His plan is our plan. Each day that we’re given is a beautiful gift from Him to us. And while we will pray each day for a miracle, we’re gonna live each day as if it’s a miracle. And it is.”

Amen.
