Four days after her pedicure, Stacey Wilson was running a fever of 102 and her foot was swollen and very red. “I was like, it’s time to go to the ER,” Wilson told CBS 12.

“It feels like you’re sitting too close to a fire and you just cannot get away from it, that’s the way it feels,” Wilson said of the pain.

She is usually working as a nurse at Saline Memorial, but doctors have confirmed she is suffering from an infection called cellulitis, and it is frequently caused by pedicures.

For Wilson, the problem started when a rough pumice stone treatment cut the side of her foot and under her pinky toe.
