Police are holding a man who may be responsible for the homicide of a woman in Bridge City, Texas, KFDM News reported.

Twenty-eight-year-old Kara Marie Willingham’s body was found at a home around 7 p.m. Wednesday, according to the station.

Jorge Elizade-Sanchez is in Orange County Jail and was Willingham’s boyfriend, investigators say.

Willingham was a nursing student at Lamar State College Orange and a mother of two. Her family told the station that her children were at home when their mother was “beaten to death.”

Sanchez works at Central Mall for Casa Ole. KFDM contacted the restaurant and the manager said, “Out of respect for the family, we have no comment.”

According to authorities, Sanchez is originally from Mexico and is on an immigration hold.

Sanchez is facing two misdemeanor charges for not having a driver’s license or insurance and is on $399 bond for each.

The investigation is ongoing.
