A 15-year-old girl has been laid to rest after a six year battle with bone cancer. Four months ago, she got a private concert in her hospital room from her favorite band.

Karinya Chen and her best friend anticipated attending a Florence + The Machine concert in Austin, Texas. But unfortunately, she was too sick to go.

“All week through set back after set back she asked if she would be able to go,” said Hospice Austin’s Christopher House nurse practitioner Christie Kremer. “We tried to entertain the idea and it felt so scary and overwhelming for the medical staff and her mother that finally I said ‘no,’ and my heart broke again.”

Kremer and her team of medical practitioners worked tirelessly to scout out Florence + The Machine for a live performance at Hospice Austin. After much hard work, it finally happened.

In this short video, the late 15-year-old girl is seen singing her heart out with her favorite band. Friends, family and loved ones surrounded her, singing along to the 2011 hit, “Shake It Out.”
