Though Adam Driver may have started out as the guy who played Lena Dunham’s love interest on the hit show “Girls,” the 33-year-old actor has since become a bonafide movie star.

Driver has appeared in a supporting role in films such as “Lincoln” and “Inside Llewyn Davis” but it was his staring role as the villain Kylo Ren in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” that brought him worldwide acclaim. That turn in J.J. Abrams’ latest film in the “Star Wars” franchise also allowed Driver to meet legendary actress, Carrie Fisher, who tragically passed away on December 27, 2016, at age 60.

During a recent interview with Stephen Colbert on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” Driver sang the late actress’s praises.

First Colbert and Driver discussed Driver’s habit of making people cry while he was a student at Juilliard. As a man who had just come out of the Marine Corps, Driver has used to high stakes at all times and it took him some time to adjust to civilian life! As the men chat about Driver’s upcoming projects, the subject of “Star Wars” comes up and Colbert is quick to offer his condolences to Driver about losing his friend and colleague, Carrie Fisher.

“What was she like to work with on set?” Cobert asked Driver. “As you can kind of tell from meeting her she burns very bright, you know. Has such a great, very generous energy for that suddenly not to be on set or talking about it,” replied Driver. Driver went on to express his admiration for Fisher, concluding that she was “a once in a lifetime personality.”
