A Brookline, N.H., woman was on her way to get married when the limo she was riding in broke down.
But Angelique Dunning was determined to get to the altar and told WFXT that she wouldn’t have missed her wedding for the world.
Dunning said the five bridesmaids and four other friends in the car with her helped keep things light.
“It didn’t even feel real. We were all just cracking up on the side of the road with our thumbs up drinking our champagne,” she told WFXT.
A good Samaritan named Jay stopped but was unable to help immediately because he had his wife and four kids in the car.
“He must’ve been somewhat responsible. He went home drop the kids off and then got us,” Dunning said.
All the while, Dunning’s soon-to-be husband, Jarrod, was waiting at the wedding hall.
“I didn’t know if she was trying to ditch me or what,” he said.
The newlyweds have been together for 11 years and waited for this day their entire lives. They now want to thank the man who helped when they needed it most.
Jay was invited to attend after dropping Dunning and her bridesmaids off, but he declined the invitation.
The limo company has refunded a third of the couple’s money.
The couple says they’re just thankful everything worked out and are happily enjoying their honeymoon.
