Actress Amber Heard recorded a video for “The Conversation” where she gets honest about the games that are played in an abusive relationship.

“When it happens in your home behind closed doors, with someone you love, it’s not as straight forward. A stranger did this,” she said. “If a stranger did this, it would be a no brainer.”

During her divorce from Actor Johnny Depp, Heard revealed that she was a victim of domestic violence. She received a $7 million settlement as a result of her divorce.

In the PSA video, she hopes her experience of suffering in an abusive relationship in the public eye can help other woman out.

“As a woman having gone through this in the public arena that I did, I have a unique opportunity to remind other women that this doesn’t have to be the way it is, you don’t have to do it alone, you’re not alone and also we can change this,” Heard says.
