Throughout Barack Obama’s presidency scores of individuals have been fired or publicly roasted for inappropriate Facebook activity. While disagreeing with a politician is kosher in most circles, those on both sides of the political aisle have discovered that being racist is not.

The latest offender of this behavior is a Colorado doctor who referred to First Lady Michelle Obama as having a “monkey face” and as someone who speaks “poor ebonic English.”

Denver Health Medical Center doctor Michelle Herren posted an unflattering photo of the first lady and made distasteful comments about her appearance.

“Monkey face and poor ebonic English!!! There! I feel better and am still not racist!!! Just calling it like it is!” Herren commented underneath her photo.

According to the Denver Health Medical Center, Herren will not see patients “until further notice.”

“Until further notice, Michelle Herren, MD, will not be seeing patients or providing anesthesia services at Denver Health Medical Center,” a spokesman said to the New York Daily News.

The hospital maintained its position in a statement to the Denver Post.

“We are disgusted by the personal comments made by Dr. Herren and they are an insult to the mission and values of Denver Health, and to our staff and patients,” a spokesman said.

“While the leadership of Denver Health is appalled by these remarks, as a public entity we are constrained by both state and federal law, including the First Amendment right of free speech, to terminate any employee for their off-duty comments, regardless of how offensive their comments may be.”
