The Huffington Post reported that Williams was “infatuated with Henderson” and that in his autobiography he wrote that the pair even went on a date. However, both later stated that the “date” was probably just Henderson humoring her fictional son. At the time of the date, Henderson was 36 and Williams was 16 — so young that his older brother had to drive him to their rendezvous.

Williams’ real romantic interest was Maureen McCormick who played the oldest Brady sister on the sitcom. McCormick also weighed in on Henderson’s passing, saying “you are in my heart forever.” Henderson is survived by her four children and several grandchildren.
