In an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” this week, talk show host Bill O’Reilly explained to Kimmel and his audience how Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump could lose the first presidential debate next Monday.
According to O’Reilly, Trump’s lack of knowledge on policy and his penchant for name-calling could be his downfall.
“Trump could say anything at any time,” O’Reilly said. “Trump won the Republican debates by saying stuff like, ‘You’re boring, you’re fat, you’re sweating.’ That’s how Trump won.”
O’Reilly added that watching Trump sometimes makes him feel like he’s watching a comedian.
“I thought I was watching Don Rickles,” he said.
If O’Reilly were in Trump’s position, he would cease any name-calling, such as referring to his opponent as “crooked Hillary.” If he were in former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s position, he would start early with policy in an effort to show all the things Trump may not know about how government works.
“And then look at him and go, ‘Do you know what I’m talking about?’ Because maybe he won’t,” O’Reilly said.
O’Reilly believes Clinton will do herself a disservice if she starts name-calling or telling Trump he’s racist.
When asked by Kimmel for his own opinion of the candidates, O’Reilly wouldn’t endorse either one.
