Actress and singer Charmian Carr, best known for her role as Liesl, the eldest Von Trapp daughter in the film version of “The Sound of Music,” died Sunday.
Carr died from complications of a rare form of dementia, according to TMZ.
An update on her official website reads as follows: “My name is Steve Hughes, and my company has been managing Charmian Carr’s website for many, many years. Me and my family are so sad to have to post this message and will miss her dearly … She was such a nice, cheerful person … Carr, has died of complications from a rare form of dementia at the age of 73.”
Carr is survived by her siblings, two children and four grandchildren, according to her website.
