Actor Chris Pratt is taking a six-month break from Hollywood to focus on his family.

The “Guardians of the Galaxy” actor has filmed three movies back-to-back, and he’s decided he needs to step back and enjoy being with his family for a while.

While sitting down with Parade Magazine to talk about his new movie with Denzel Washington, “The Magnificient Seven,” the subject of family came up.

When he was asked how his family was doing, Pratt responded, “I’ve been on the road for 14 months — I did three movies back-to-back-to-back — so I’m taking six months off.”

The father of one, who’s married to actress Anna Farris, continued, “I’m taking Jack to Jack’s Beach, which is what we named the little stretch of beach on an island up on the San Juan Islands where we got a place. We’re going to go back to the fort we built about a month-and-a-half ago when we went for a short visit and see if that’s still there. If not, we’re going to build it again.”

This isn’t the first time Pratt has talked openly about his role as a father to his 4-year-old son, Jack. At a 2014 March of Dimes event, Pratt shared that being a father was his greatest role to date.

“I’ve done all kinds of cool things as an actor: I’ve jumped out of helicopters and done some daring stunts and played baseball in a professional stadium, but none of it means anything compared to being somebody’s daddy,” Pratt shared with the audience.

Now if that doesn’t make every heart melt just a little bit, we don’t know what will.

Pratt’s new film, “The Magnificient Seven,” will open on Sept. 23.
