According to Politico, on Thursday the House Rules Committee approved a resolution that will allow Congress to hold a full vote to pursue or not pursue a lawsuit against President Barack Obama.
Following the successful 7-4 vote, Rep. Pete Sessions (R-Texas) applauded the ruling, once again alleging that President Obama broke the law.
“This was not the way our system of government was designed to work. Laws are not a mere list of suggestions that a president can pick and choose,”
In early July, House Speaker John Boehner announced that he would pursue a lawsuit against the president for delaying the employer mandate in the Affordable Care Act.
Congress is expected to vote on whether to pursue further legal action next week.
