On Saturday afternoon, Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) joined the ranks of people defending Lewis.
Earlier in the week, Booker and Lewis both entered testimony against the nomination of Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL) as the next Attorney General of the United States.
I honor @repjohnlewis, a living legend & American hero. He's faced down some of history's most hateful: now & then his love & truth prevail. https://t.co/XVRahJYZsX

“I honor @repjohnlewis, a living legend & American hero. He’s faced down some of history’s most hateful: now & then his love & truth prevail,” Booker wrote on Saturday. “Anyone who attacks @repjohnlewis loses legitimacy in my eyes, especially someone who made such a craven effort to delegitmize @BarackObama.”
