With the election less than a month away, the candidates and their surrogates are making a strong push through swing states to secure those last-minute votes. It’s likely that they’re tired and prone to a slip of the tongue every now and then.
GOP nominee Donald Trump found himself in that scenario on Tuesday, when he told his supporters in Panama City Beach, Fla., to get out and vote for him on Nov. 28.
The problem? Election Day is Nov. 8, twenty days before he told the crowd to go vote.
Twitter lit up after Trump’s mistake, with many of his critics joking that his supporters should vote on this incorrect date.
Trump later corrected the misstatement with a tweet telling voters to cast their ballots for the Trump/Pence ticket on Nov. 8.
