Faith Hill’s career was a big success from the very first moment she hit the country scene with “Wild One.”

The song about a rebellious teenager breaking away from her parents quickly shot to No. 1 at country radio and got the ball rolling for Faith’s debut album, “Take Me as I Am,” to eventually sell 3 million copies in the U.S. alone. She’d score additional No. 1 hits from that album with the title track, as well as her cover of Janis Joplin’s “Piece of My Heart.”

That debut project was released on Oct. 12, 1993 with “Wild One” already on its way to the top of the country charts. The song would spend four weeks at No. 1 in January 1994, and this video was a big part of the song’s success.

Faith’s movie star good looks and easy charm shined throughout this clip. It clearly announced her as one of the premier voices of country for the 1990s.

The arrival of “Wild One” happened before Faith met and eventually married her fellow country superstar, Tim McGraw. They toured together in 1996, and the sparks flew quickly. Tim and Faith got married that October and welcomed their first child, Gracie, in May 1997.
