Carrie Underwood has a new sidekick while getting ready to host Wednesday night’s CMA Awards – her baby boy, Isaiah.

In an interview backstage at the CMA Awards venue in Nashville, Underwood says, “He’s already been here hanging around in the corridors of Bridgestone Arena at rehearsals. So, it’s been interesting having him along, but he just makes everything better. So, it’s been good.”

As you can imagine, Underwood has been stretched thin lately between taking care of Isaiah, releasing her new album, “Storyteller” and getting ready to host the CMA Awards again with Brad Paisley. Thankfully, Isaiah seems to be up for just about anything.

“I have the sweetest guy ever,” Underwood says. “Isaiah’s such a sweet baby and he’s so happy and smiley. That makes late night feedings and early mornings when he decides it’s time to play — it makes those things not so bad when your baby’s just adorable and smiling at you.”

Underwood will be taking her little man with her on the road next year. Look for country superstar to perform her latest hit, “Smoke Break,” on the CMA Awards this Wednesday night at 8 ET on ABC.
