For months, no one noticed this high schooler let it all hang out in the yearbook — now this is happening

As part of what appears to be have been a prank, 19-year-old high school football player Hunter Osborn exposed his penis in a yearbook photo with the team, a fact that went unnoticed until 250 copies of the yearbook were distributed.

But Osborn probably isn’t laughing right now. The Red Mountain High School student faces 69 — yes, 69 — counts of indecent exposure. That’s a misdemeanor.

Osborn also faces, though, one felony charge of furnishing harmful items to minors.

He told police that “he was dared by a football teammate” to sneak his genitals into the team photo, according to KNXV.

The school released the following statement on the matter:

The district is dismayed by the actions of the students involved in the photograph. Their behavior does not reflect the values of Red Mountain High School or Mesa Public Schools.

Upon learning of the photograph, school administration immediately contacted police and is cooperating fully with the investigation. Disciplinary action will follow policy and may be based on the outcome of the police investigation.

The school and district are conducting an investigation to determine what actions might have prevented the publication of the photograph, so appropriate safeguards can be put in place going forward.

While the small size of the photograph as published makes the details difficult to discern, the yearbook has been recalled so the school can make a minor but critical edit for the inappropriate content.

That bit about the “small size of the photograph” is a funny description, given the nature of the offense and how long it took to discover, but we digress.

One teammate, Zach Anthony, came to Osborn’s defense.

“I thought it was kind of a dumb prank he did,” he said in an interview with KNXV. “I don’t think he deserved to have his life ruined.”

The seriousness of the charges could mean Osborn will have to register as a sex offender.
