Country music superstar Garth Brooks brought the crowd to their feet on Monday, Jan. 9, during a surprise appearance at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium.

The 54-year-old crooner, who has toured non-stop since coming out of retirement, joined forces with iHeart media, along with radio personality Bobby Bones and his band, The Raging Idiots, on a rowdy version of “Friends in Low Places.”

In this video, the five-time CMA Entertainer of the Year is dressed in casual attire with a ball cap, leather jacket and pair of blue jeans. With some help from the audience, he launches into the famous tune a cappella. After giving pals Bobby and musician Brandon Ray each a shot on the microphone, Garth makes his way across the stage to share moments with each member of the band. And, boy does it look fun!

The special concert was all part of a massive charity event called “The BIG 98 Presents: Bobby Bones & The Raging Idiots’ Million Dollar Show For St. Jude.” The benefit show, which helps to raise money for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, is in its second year and is held by Bobby Bones. Other stars who also performed during the celebration were Brothers Osborne, Thomas Rhett, The Band Perry, Rascal Flatts, Sam Hunt and country newcomer Caitlyn Smith.
In addition to singing “Friends in Low Places,” Garth also presented Bobby with a ginormous check of $2 million in support of the children’s hospital. To date, the event has raised $5.9 million.
