Ever wonder how the view is from the top? Garth Brooks can tell you it’s pretty darn good, and when he went on the hit daytime talk show, “The View,” he shared what it looked like from his up-close-and-personal vantage point.

It was Garth’s first time sitting down with the ladies since returning back to work after his temporary retirement. Of course, he was excited to talk about his new CMA entertainer of the year trophy and his welcomed return to country music, but it was when he spoke about his family and wife Trisha Yearwood that you got a true sense of the man and his priorities.

View host Sara Haines asked Garth what the key was to his and Trisha’s successful relationship. “I think it’s me,” he said smiling, then added, “I’m just glad she’s not here so I can talk a little bit about our relationship. So, I introduce her as the love of my life everywhere we go. She introduces me as her current husband. So, you can see how the relationship kinda works.”

Sara chimed in, “So, there’s a sense of humor,” and Garth replied, “With her? You look at her, you go, ‘Oh my gosh, she’s gorgeous.’ Get ready, gorgeous is like 10th on the list. She’s smart. She’s so smart. She’s witty. She’s funny. And if you get in a fight with her, you’re like, ‘Whose blood is this?’ You don’t know it, she’s slicing you to death. She’s so over my head, she’s so smart.”

Host Whoopi Goldberg asked Garth about his time off raising his daughters and you could hear the emotion in his voice. “There’s nothing that beats being a parent. That’s the best time of your life,” he said. He also told the story of building a new house for Tricia and his daughters, and although there was plenty of room, his three daughters shared a bedroom. “They’re like, ‘why?’ Because I shared a bedroom with five brothers,” he said. “Every night, they hate it, but every night you’d hear them cackling and laughing. That’s your best times of your life.”

Now remember! So far in November alone, Garth has released his holiday duets collection with wife Trisha, “Christmas Together,” and his new boxed set, “The Ultimate Collection.” Next up — his new project of original music, “Gunslinger,” on Nov. 25.

Oh Christmas Garth, oh Christmas Garth, how lovely are your albums!
