Garth Brooks performed at the inaugural festivities when President Barack Obama took office in 2009, and he says he’d do the same for Obama’s successor — President-elect Donald Trump.
While in Washington, D.C. to sing at the National Christmas Tree Lighting with the Obamas on Thursday, Garth told TMZ he hasn’t been asked to sing at Trump’s inauguration next month, so he can’t say for sure if he’s going to take part. It sounds like he’d be willing to take on the gig, though.
When asked if it’s even a possibility he would perform at the inauguration, Garth said, “It’s always about serving. It’s what you do.”
Garth also revealed he thinks the best songwriter in music is Bob Dylan, who just won the Nobel Prize for Literature.
Garth and his lovely wife, Trisha Yearwood, have been making the rounds performing holiday songs from their new album, “Christmas Together.” Check out this clip of them performing on NBC’s annual “Christmas at Rockefeller Center.”
