“I love my husband, President Barack Obama, and our children, Sasha and Malia,” Hadid said, mocking Melania’s RNC speech, along with her accent and physical appearance.

While they drew laughs from the audience, Twitter users didn’t seem to find Hadid’s making fun of the future first lady all that humorous.

Critics pointed out that it was sexist to hold a woman accountable for the words and actions of her husband or any other man she’s related to. Throughout the election, many pointed out that to judge Hillary Clinton based on her husband’s scandals or policies was unfair. Hadid’s critics now say that perhaps she, Sophie Theallet, Shoes.com and anyone else failing to separate the women in Trump’s family from the president-elect himself didn’t get that memo.
