A man in West Virginia is being accused of sexual assault and beating of a 9-month-old, that resulted in the infant’s death. Now, there’s a petition demanding a very severe punishment.
A White House petition has been started to demand the public hanging for Benjamin Taylor, the man charged with the crime.
The petition states:
Prison is too good for child rapists and their ilk. I would move to say that our “justice system” is even a part of the problem, in that incarceration is hardly justice when it comes to such an awful act. Maybe if these people were actually afraid of what would happen to them if/when they were caught, they’d be less likely to do such vile things? When it’s an open and shut case such as this, let us hang these creatures publicly. Let us make examples of them, and allow the American people to attend these hangings so that the accused may be ridiculed, as they should be.
Officials have called the crime “the worst sexual assault case they’ve seen in two decades,” Fox 43 reports.
The Pennsylvania-based TV station adds that the child was found “in the basement of an apartment [Taylor] shared with his girlfriend, who is the mother of the baby. The baby was unresponsive and covered with blood, officials say.”
Taylor’s Facebook immediately began flooding with hate-filled comments after news of his crime broke. He has an infant child of his own, with another woman, though that child is reportedly unharmed. He was dating his girlfriend since July.
His bail is set a $2 million and he is currently being held at South Central Regional Jail.
