Ivanka Trump played a large role in her father’s presidential campaign, and there are reports that she will set up an office in the White House. But while she may visit 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue on a daily basis, she won’t be living in the historic estate.

Washingtonian magazine recently announced that the future first daughter and her husband have purchased a house in Washington, D.C.’s upscale Kalorama neighborhood.

The six-bedroom house sold for $5.5 million. The company that negotiated the transaction has also worked with several members of the incoming cabinet.
This is not the first time Ivanka Trump has lived in the nation’s capital — she attended Georgetown University for a few years before transferring to the University of Pennsylvania.

Trump and Kushner’s new house is a mere two blocks from the house the Obamas purchased to live in after Donald Trump moves into the White House. The Obamas have said they want to stay in the area until their daughters finish school.
