Jana Kramer, 32, injured herself during rehearsals on the second night of ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars.”
Kramer posted an Instagram photo Thursday evening telling her fans, “Getting ready for week 2 with @glebsavchenkoofficial @dancingabc #dwts (for those of you asking. I sprained my rib muscles but I’m a tough cookie and I’m gonna fight through it. Thanks for the love!!!).
“I sprained my intercostal muscle. It’s very painful, and it’s hard to breath and move. My doctor recommended that I do not dance, but I’m going to anyways,” Kramer told PEOPLE.
Her dancing partner, Gleb Savchenko, told E! News that he’s concerned her injury could effect their performance.
“I’m worried because it’s one of the things…you have to be careful. The injury can hold you back, there’s a lot of things in the choreography we cannot do,” Savchenko told E! News.
The pair are reportedly dancing a tango to Gavin DeGraw’s, “I Don’t Wanna Be,” on next week’s show.
Kramer’s injury comes days after Ryan Lochte’s incident Monday night.
