On Monday, Jennifer Aniston visited BBC’s The One Show to promote her new movie “Office Christmas Party” when host Matt Baker asked her what she thinks about whenever she hears the “Friends” theme song, “I’ll Be There for You,” by The Rembrandts. Although viewers were probably expecting a nostalgic reaction like this, they got something entirely different.

“No one was really a big fan of that theme song,” Aniston revealed. “I don’t mean to say that, but we felt it was a little, I don’t know. Dancin’ in a pond, or like, a fountain, felt a little odd. But we did it.”

The title sequence of each of the show’s 236 episodes has become an iconic part of TV history. It is a little “odd” though, considering that the six characters spend all of their time hanging out at Central Park or in Monica’s apartment, not on a couch by the fountain — which actually isn’t even real.

Why did cast go along with the idea, then?

“We did it because we were told to,” Aniston explained.
