Things aren’t looking good for Jim Carrey.

The actor has just been slapped with a wrongful death lawsuit in the Los Angeles County Superior Court that accuses him of being involved in the death of his ex-girlfriend, Cathriona White. According to The Daily Beast, Carrey has been accused of attempting to “conceal and obfuscate his involvement and culpability” in White’s death.

White’s estranged husband, Mark Burton, claims Carrey “wrongfully and illegally” obtained opioids under the false name “Arthur King” and gave them to White. He also claims that Carrey and his assistant failed to notify police of a possible overdose, despite her staying at a property that was under surveillance, and that the assistant allegedly noticed White’s failure to leave the home after “well over a day.”

The lawsuit also claims that Carrey tried to conceal his involvement by sending text messages to her phone after she was already deceased, thus insinuating that he had no idea she took the pills that ended her life.
