After Joey+Rory’s unexpected nomination for ACM “Vocal Duo of the Year” on Feb. 1 with fellow nominees Brothers Osborne, Dan + Shay, Florida Georgia Line and Maddie & Tae, many country music fans expected the much-loved country duo to share some sort of post or picture celebrating their latest accomplishment.

Yet, there was none.

Instead, a picture shared on Joey+Rory’s socials on the morning of Feb. 3 reminded us all that this dear couple have much more important things on their mind right now as Joey grapples with the final stages of her cancer journey.

“Feeling broken-hearted and blessed all at the same time this morning,” Rory captioned a picture showing Joey sitting with their dear daughter Indiana and with an IV hanging next to her bed by the window. “(I’m) watching my beautiful bride pour a lifetime of love into a few minutes a day.”

This hint at the continuing worsening of Joey’s condition is a heartbreaking development in the story of Joey+Rory, who find themselves on the cusp of many milestone moments this month, including the release of their new album, their daughter Indiana’s birthday and their Grammy nomination.
