Today is a bittersweet day for Kathie Lee Gifford.

The “TODAY” host held back tears as she opened up about what would have been her 30th anniversary with her late husband, Frank Gifford.

“Today would have marked my 30th wedding anniversary with my husband, and I’m deeply grateful for all the years I had with that beautiful man […] so thank you for that beautiful song,” she said after the producers played a song in his honor.

The entire room was tearful as she thanked everyone for their support.

Gifford then turned to her co-host and friend, Hoda Kotb, saying, “I had no intention of saying that, but that’s why I love working with you, Hoda. Just be real […] a real pain in the butt.”

Frank Gifford passed away in August 2015 at the age of 84. This year, Gifford penned a heartfelt message about her late husband on the one year anniversary of his death.

“Bible verse 2 Corinthians 5:8 says ‘to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.’ How can I be unhappy knowing my husband is in spiritual perfection with his Lord? Even the day Frank passed, we were able to rejoice and thank the Lord and cry tears of joy mixed with tears of sorrow. They were equal because of what we believed,” she wrote.
