They have waited and hoped and wondered if today would ever come.
And it finally did via the cries of their very own miracle baby boy.
Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley and his wife, Cassie, welcomed Ward Charles Kelley on Feb. 11 at 9:20 a.m. “We can’t stop staring at him and he hasn’t stopped chit chatting with us since he arrived,” the proud parents proclaimed on the women’s lifestyle brand and website, Womanista, which Cassie founded. “He’s got mama’s nose and daddy’s eyes and vocal chords and a head full of blonde hair.”
This makes a Lady A trifecta for the country trio, with each member of the musical group now having an adorable child to call their own. Yet, the Kelley’s struggle to have baby Ward was well documented, with the couple being very open when it came to their fertility struggles.
“I woke up one morning in June and there it was, a positive pregnancy test,” Cassie wrote in her blog back in August. “I was in shock. Happy shock, but shock. Our baby decided to join our family in God’s time, which is always right. I think back over the past six years of our marriage and am grateful for the time that Charles and I have had together, just the two of us. I know all of that will change once our little screaming bundle arrives, but our bond that was built during those precious moments will not. God knows us and he knows our marriage and he blessed us in just the right time.”
