An E! News video shows Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez and her professional partner Val Chmerkovskiy when they met for the first time.
In the video, Hernandez is seen on the balance beam perfecting her routines when Chmerkovskiy walks in.
The Olympic gymnast stopped in her tracks and jumped off the beam to greet Chmerkovskiy.
Both were excited to have landed each other as partners on the ABC reality hit series “Dancing with the Stars.”
“This is so cool,” Hernandez says to Chmerkovskiy, who spins her around. “Look at you, I was just watching you on TV,” he says.

Hernandez quickly cut to the chase: “So, we’re, like, going to win this thing, right?” she asked.
“There’s a lot of flips that I can teach him,” she added to the camera, before showing some of her moves to Chmerkovskiy.
Watch their full meeting before the full “DWTS” premiere on Monday, Sept. 12 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
Earlier this month, ABC announced that Hernandez would be performing alongside the professional dancer.
Chmerkovskiy also posted a video of him and Hernandez practicing some of their moves ahead of the show.
