It’s no secret that Laurie Hernandez has taken this season of “Dancing with the Stars” by storm!

The Olympic gymnast has dominated the competition week after week. Last week, she took home her first perfect score!

On Monday, Hernandez and dance pro partner Val Chmerkovskiy stopped by “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” to share the secrets of their success.

Because Hernandez is so young, it was challenging for her to find the sexiness she needed to execute a proper tango.

“I sleep with a teddy bear at night. I’ve never had a boyfriend. And that was kind of hard,” she said.

“So, I have reference ‘The Notebook,’ and things like that, movies. Or ‘Finding Nemo,’ how did the father feel when Nemo was gone?” Chmerkovskiy said.

“Whatever gets you there,” DeGeneres laughed.

“Actually, that reminds me. I know what got me there. I had a light bulb moment right before I went onstage, and I was like ‘okay, I have to channel me smelling a quesadilla right before I get up there. That’s the only way that this is going to work,'” Hernandez revealed. When DeGeneres asked for a demonstration, Hernandez did her best quesadilla face.

In honor of Hernandez’s celebrity crush on Dave Franco, DeGeneres presented her with a Franco-themed dress, but that wasn’t the end of the surprises. DeGeneres also arranged for Franco to give her a shout-out, and Hernandez nearly melted to the floor.

Hernandez finished off her appearance on “Ellen” with an encore performance of her sexy tango.

“Dancing with the Stars” airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
