After all, several high-profile celebrities, um, “overshared” in social media and on stage. Recently, Miley Cyrus got naked in her “Wrecking Ball” video; Kim Kardashian took a selfie in a skimpy swimsuit; and Nicki Minaj wore leopard star-shaped pasties, gold chains and a fish expression on her face.
After all of this, Ms. Jones tweeted out a sarcastic note:

Of course, she didn’t call out anyone in particular, nor did she say they were whores. She simply was lamenting Hollywood starlets’ immodesty.
Twitterverse reacted.
Ms. Jones had just committed the sin of “slut shaming.” What is that? Here’s the short answer: “Slut-shaming, also known as slut-bashing, is the idea of shaming and/or attacking a woman or a girl for being sexual, having one or more sexual partners, acknowledging sexual feelings and/or acting on sexual feelings. Furthermore, it’s “about the implication that if a woman has sex that traditional society disapproves of, she should feel guilty and inferior.” (Alon Levy, Slut Shaming)
In other words, a woman can do anything she wants to do sexually, without anyone disagreeing with her actions. These women, feminists say, are not “sluts,” but are simply “expressing their sexuality in a way that does not conform with patriarchal expectations for women.”
A Huffington Post article reprimanded Ms. Jones: “Perhaps Jones never saw “Mean Girls” because she’d know that “[women] have got to stop calling each other sluts and whores. It just makes it okay for guys to call you sluts and whores” — and it’s not okay.”
Ms. Jones softened her message a bit, explaining:
“Let me clarify. I don’t shame ANYone for anything they choose to do with their lives or bodies … BUT I think we ALL need to take a look at what we are accepting as ‘the norm.’ There is a whole generation of young women watching. Sure, be SEXY but leave something to the imagination.”
So, let me get this straight. Ms. Jones can’t tell other women what to do with their lives or bodies. However, the feminists are completely fine telling Ms. Jones what to do with her mind and voice.
This week was a rough week for liberals and their “anything goes” philosophy about sex.
Emily Yoffe, Slate’s Dear Prudence advice columnist, gave young women heading to college some sound advice: Don’t get drunk because you might get taken advantage of sexually. Ms. Yoffe backed up her column with several studies:
“One being a 2009 study of campus sexual assault, which found that almost 20 percent of college women will become victims of rape, overwhelmingly by a fellow classmate. The same study states that more than 80 percent of campus sexual assaults involve alcohol.”
But the liberal criticism didn’t abate simply because of statistics or facts. “What about teaching men not to rape?” people asked. “Why shouldn’t women be able to get drunk? It’s their right!”
Once again, leftists react to common sense like vampires to sunlight.
Liberals are often accused of “utopianism,” but who knew their perfect world includes pasties, binge drinking and telling women who disagree with them to sit down and shut up?
