On Christmas morning, Luke Bryan is just like countless other dads in the country. He stands back and watches it all go down.

“We kind of promote chaos,” Luke laughs in a recent interview with Rare Country minutes before his performance at Charlie Daniels’ 80th Birthday Volunteer Jam in Nashville. “I’m not one of those that likes to [clean up too soon.] I want to see the wrapping paper everywhere for a little bit. I don’t want to get the garbage bags out, so Christmas can last a little longer. It’s tough to slow the boys down. They go through their presents quickly.”

Yet, even Luke knows that sometimes, the true spirit of Christmas can only be revealed when we all take a minute to slow down.

“We stress that it’s about the meaning of Christmas and try not to go over the top with presents,” Luke says. “Obviously, we try to factor in some stuff to do, some nice thing we can do for other people so they hopefully understand that Christmas is about things other than just toys under the tree.”
