On Monday, “Saturday Night Live” announced that Mikey Day, Melissa Villaseñor and Alex Moffat would be joining the sketch comedy show cast when the new season kicks off on Oct. 1.

Day, who has been a writer on “SNL” since 2013, got his start in improv comedy as a member of The Groundlings in the early 2000s and was also a star of the MTV improv comedy show “Wild ‘N Out.”

Here he is in a bit from the NBC sketch comedy series “Maya and Marty.”

Melissa Villaseñor, who is “SNL’s” first Latina cast member, first came to prominence for her outstanding impressions, which earned her a spot as a Top 16 finalist on the sixth season of “America’s Got Talent.”
