Retired Petty Officer First Class Generald Wilson became a social media hit on Monday night, with his stunning rendition of the National Anthem. Wilson appeared before millions of fans before the Monday Night Football contest between the New England Patriots and Carolina Panthers.

“With me being in uniform, being able to sing the national anthem, it’s a great honor,” told ABC News.

“You get to hear a crowd singing with you and that feels good.”

After the performance, Wilson’s Twitter feed blew up with support from fans across the globe.
