People are boycotting L.L. Bean, so Donald Trump stepped in

On Thursday, President-elect Donald Trump gave L.L. Bean a hand after some made the decision to boycott the company over Linda Bean’s decision to support Trump’s presidency.

Trump took to Twitter to thank the various members of the company for their support. He also encouraged his supporters to buy merchandise:

“Thank you to Linda Bean of L.L.Bean for your great support and courage. People will support you even more now. Buy L.L.Bean,” he wrote before linking to Bean’s lobster restaurant.

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) mocked Trump’s tweet, calling it a sponsored ad.
