There seems to be a new rumor every day about who is or isn’t playing at this year’s presidential inauguration coming up on Jan. 20. A Google search provides a short list of confirmed celebrities set to share their talents on that memorable night. But, it also provides an even longer list of those rumored to be performing. On Jan. 12, a Fox News report bore the headline that “Marie Osmond would perform at Trump inauguration;” however on social media, Marie issued a statement saying that she is not performing at the event. And it isn’t a matter of who is taking office.

The statement reads, “I had no intention of performing at this inauguration, no matter who won. I try to stay out of politics. I’m an entertainer. My interview statement simply tried to be nice and promote a message of love, not hate.”

Interview footage cobbled together by Fox shows Marie telling Yahoo, “I think when it comes to our country we need to unite. I think we should all support our president whether happy or sad. This is America.” She also says, “We should come together, and I think an inauguration should be a time to unite, it really should.”

The report does go on to say that she had not yet been invited to be a part of the inaugural festivities.

But apparently her answer is “no.”
