Rosie O’Donnell is tackling the challenge of raising a child as a single mother.

O’Donnell revealed to fans that she has been awarded sole custody of her three-year-old daughter, Dakota (Dax) in a special Q & A post on her website. She also revealed that her ex wife, Michelle Rounds no longer sees their adopted child.
When a fan, Cathy, asked O’Donnell if she shares custody with Rounds, she simply replied, “I do not.”
Another fan, Diane, pushed forward with the questions about the child and custody, asking if Rounds is out of Dax’s life and O’Donnell responded, “yup.”
It’s been somewhat of a tumultuous custody battle for O’Donnell and Rounds. In October, Page Six reported that the couple was seeking joint legal custody of Dax. The idea of joint custody surprised fans considering that just one month prior, Rounds was rushed to the hospital after overdosing on pills and alcohol in an alleged suicide attempt.
The couple began dating in 2011 and finalized their divorce in March.
O’Donnell is currently enjoying a little family time for the Fourth of July holiday with family and friends.
