It’s fall, y’all! And that means it’s time to start planning our Thanksgiving dinners! (I’m totally on board with any holiday that revolves around eating!)

This year, I decided to add an oyster dressing to my lineup, as I absolutely love oysters and think they’re underutilized at Thanksgiving.

What’s the difference between stuffing and dressing, you ask? Dressing is simply baked in the oven and served as is, while stuffing is, well, stuffed into the turkey. You’re welcome.

You’ll need:

  • 1 pound bread, cubed
  • 1 pint raw oysters

  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 2 cups onions, chopped
  • ½ cup parsley
  • 1 tablespoon sage
  • 1 tablespoon thyme
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 2 cups chicken stock
  • Salt, pepper and nutmeg
