The Seattle city council unanimously passed an ordinance Monday, which gives Seattle the highest minimum wage in the nation.
That news was received by a chorus of cheers.
“If we organize as workers we can tackle the chasm of income inequality and social injustice,” one woman said.
Herman Cain had a little fun with the news.
“The Seattle city council unanimously passed an ordinance Monday that gradually increases unemployment in the city, which would make it the highest in the nation,” Cain said.
“Whenever the states minimum wage is higher than the national, they also have a higher state unemployment rate. They are elated about keeping people out of work,” he added.
