There’s something fishy about this.

Philadelphian Lisa Lobree was in for a big surprise on Labor Day when, during a routine stroll through a park, she was smacked in the head by a dead catfish that had fallen at least 50 feet out of the sky.

It is believed that a bird flying over may have dropped the dead creature.

Lobree, who was walking through Fairmount Park with a friend, suddenly hit the deck.

She told CBS News 13 that she smelled “disgusting” after it happened.

“I think it might have been head, face and neck because I smelled so bad afterward. I smelled disgusting,” she said. “Annie [my friend] sees me go down, turns around, looks and goes ‘Oh my God!’ It was a fish.”

A fish, indeed — and a rotting, 18-inch one at that.

Although Lobree did suffer a cut to the face and some bruising, she does have an interesting story to tell. She was also thankful the fish didn’t hit a kid.

“Think it’s just nice it’s giving people a good story to laugh at,” she told “It could have been so much worse. What if it hit a child? It was a not a fun experience, but there are so many worse things that could’ve happened. It’s probably one of the strangest things that [has] happened to me in my life.”
