More amazing performances were heard on Monday, Nov. 21, as 11 finalists took the stage for another shot at staying in the competition on NBC’s “The Voice.”

Kicking off the show was Team Miley vocalist Ali Caldwell, who proved that she is indeed a shining star in the making. Ali showcased her powerful range on Dolly Parton’s hit song “9 to 5.”

During rehearsals, coach Miley Cyrus, who is Dolly’s goddaughter said, “I would never give someone I didn’t trust a fairy godmother song.” Well, it’s a good thing Miley trusted her talented prodigy to sing the song, because Ali totally slayed it!

In this video, Ali steps out in a flashy, Tina Turner-inspired dress with countless frills. She shows off her infectious spunk and fun-loving attitude, while being accompanied by a whole slew of backup musicians. She works her way down a sparkly staircase flanked by huge screens to take command of the floor. Before strutting from one side of the stage to the other, Ali stops dead center in front of the coaches chairs to sing straight to them. By the end of the song, the coaches were on their feet.

“I am so happy,” coach Adam Levine said enthusiastically, “Miley knows that the second you guys finished doing that performance the other day it was a country song. I turned to Miley and was like, ‘Ali has to do a country song.’ I’m so happy that it happened, because you can do that. You can do anything, but it was so apparent that you can do country music.”

“I am so impressed,” added coach Blake Shelton, “and that was so much fun. You brought it to a new place. Good job!”

Miley then gushed, “I think the rest of your life is going to be opening shows and closing shows and nothing in between. Because that’s what you are — you’re such a star. I’m so excited for you to win this show!”

Be sure to keep up with Ali on “The Voice” Monday and Tuesday nights on NBC. If she keeps covering songs like this, she may just take the season 11 crown!
