Shortly after Tommy Ford turned 51, he sat down for an interview with Xcellence Community Magazine founder Dr. Angella Banks.
Banks spoke about living life and reaching the 50-year milestone with the former “Martin” star.
“51 is not old that’s like the beginning, don’t you think? Like, the beginning of living life and embracing life,” Banks said.
“No,” Ford responded. “More than half of my life is over. I have more years behind me than I have in front of me. How many black men do you know that are 102 years old?”
The Xcellence founder paused.
“Half of my life is over,” Ford continued. “I’m okay with that, so it’s not about how much I got left it’s about how much I accomplished while I was here. Did I reach some destinations? Did touch I some lives? That’s what it’s about.”
As Rare previously reported, Ford who famously played Tommy in the ’90s sitcom “Martin” died Wednesday after an aneurysm ruptured in his abdomen. He was 52 years old.
