Olympian Simone Biles has found herself at the center of a hacking scandal involving the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). The hackers released private medical information on the gold medal-winning gymnast, as well as tennis stars Venus and Serena Williams.

Shortly after the leak, Biles released a statement addressing the information that was revealed about her.

In a Twitter post, Biles informed her fans that she has ADHD and has been taking medication for the condition for years.

WADA’s athlete database was accessed by Russian hackers who call themselves “Fancy Bears” and was believed to be in retaliation for WADA’s report on Russia’s state-sponsored doping.

In a statement released September 13, WADA addressed the leak and shared comments from its director general, Olivier Niggli.

WADA condemns these ongoing cyber-attacks that are being carried out in an attempt to undermine WADA and the global anti-doping system. WADA has been informed by law enforcement authorities that these attacks are originating out of Russia. Let it be known that these criminal acts are greatly compromising the effort by the global anti-doping community to re-establish trust in Russia further to the outcomes of the Agency’s independent McLaren Investigation Report.

USA Gymnastics also addressed the specifics of the leak, saying, “By virtue of the TUE, Biles has not broken any drug-testing regulations, including at the Olympic Games in Rio.”
