In 2011, Garry Marshall released “New Years Eve,” a star-studded, schmaltzy romantic comedy that featured an ensemble of some of Hollywood’s biggest names.

Critics hated it, audiences hated it, and apparently “Saturday Night Live” hated it as they skewered it in an episode featuring Katy Perry.

Instead of “New Year Eve,” SNL takes the formula of a massive ensemble comedy and sets it up against “The Apocalypse,” to hilarious results.

Of particular note is Perry’s brief appearance as fellow pop-singer Christina Aguilera, an impression that one would hope she brings back some time soon.

Other impressions include, Alan Alda, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Drew Barrymore, Ashton Kutcher and dozens of others that fans will instantly recognize.
