Ted Cruz proves he’s a cuck by endorsing Donald Trump

Texas Senator Ted Cruz announced today he would vote for the pathological liar and narcissist who insulted his wife and accused his dad of killing JFK. “After many months of careful consideration, of prayer and searching my own conscience, I have decided that on Election Day, I will vote for the Republican nominee, Donald Trump,” Cruz said in a Facebook post.

What did Ted Cruz get in return for his endorsement of Trump?

Cruz sold out on the word of a known liar for support of his confused Internet legislation. You think he would have at least held out for a bottle of Trump wine and some Trump steaks to make the deal slightly more respectable. Nonetheless, the Cruz endorsement could help Trump in Texas, where Clinton has been running closer to him than she should be.

Cruz was likely persuaded by RNC Chairman Reince Priebus’ threat to block any candidate who refuses to endorse Trump from running in 2020. If so, Cruz, whose entire political brand is based on fighting tough fights and “standing on principle,” was intimidated by a guy rightly described by Conservative Review’s Steve Deace as “the twerp you gave a swirly to after recess.”

To quote Trump’s alt-right supporters, Ted Cruz is a cuck.

Cruz has earned himself a reputation for being an opportunist who is solely interested in political advancement. This was a major reason why he couldn’t consolidate the #NeverTrump after when Marco Rubio left the presidential race. Now, with Cruz gone, #NeverTrump conservatives are expected only to double down on their refusal to support Trump:

So in the 2020 presidential campaign, we could very well have the spectacle of Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio arguing over who kissed Trump’s ass the most in the debates. Rubio at least has the advantage of being likable enough to pull off (yet another) political reinvention. Cruz, who had alienated much of his own political party even before today, likely won’t be as successful as Rubio.

Unfortunately for both Cruz and Rubio, they won’t be the only ones running for president in 2020. A certain #NeverTrump senator from Nebraska and a certain #NeverTrump congressman from Michigan could be waiting in the wings to pounce on Cruz. Even a certain speaker of the House who has continued to denounce Trump despite endorsing him might be available too. Stay tuned.
